Program Design
R.P. Anderson’s approach to design is not unlike the
traditional approach that other Architecture and Engineering firms
use. What sets us apart is our use of a Goals,
Facts and Concepts
philosophy. Under this principal your team interactively participates
with other team members to identify Form, Function and Economic
elements as they relate to the Goals, Facts and Concepts.
The following pages identify typical questions,
statements or factors that are used in the process as well as examples
of the 5x7 graphic cards used. Typically, the team identifies
elements, writes them on cards, organizes them in a logical thought
process, and tapes or pins them to display boards. Further, members
discuss them, re-write or discard them. When complete all of the team
has an in-depth understanding and awareness of the project and agrees
in the project’s direction.
At the completion of this process a “story board” is
effectively written for your project in the most comprehensive and
efficient team effort. It is important to know that team remains
intact throughout the project thus insuring that what was initially
planned by the team is then implemented by the same team.
